It was a busy weekend in the Trolls community as we had our U17 playing their first match on Saturday and Trolls 2 participating in their second game of the season on Sunday.

The U17 squad is an extremely young team with only eight returning players from last season and a large portion of the team still eligible for the U15 season. However, this does not mean we lack in talent as we found out first hand against the Kristiansand Gladiators. We were able to overcome early turnovers and a scoreboard deficit to win convincingly 50-22. The day belonged to RB/LB Fredrik Lien as he rushed for nearly 200 yards with 5 tds and made key contributions on defense and special teams. Being so young, we must always be critical of our errors, make corrections and improve week to week.

To close out the weekend action, Trolls 2 made a short trip to Kolbotn to take on the Hunters. Kolbotn came into the match with an unblemished record and a physical style of play that is reminiscent of yesteryears so we knew that we would be in for a dogfight. As was the case from the day before, we had early turnover problems which led to us falling behind early. Eventually, the team found its collective grove and was able to pull away winning 46-33. As is the standard rate for Trolls 2, we had many rookies and juniors come away with valuable playing time that will lead to future growth. Due to a vast number of injuries along our lines, we had a few key players come out of retirement and help establish our fronts. As is the case every week, we will work hard towards improving in all areas.
